There are 12 stations planned along the alignment i.e. Sabarmati, Ahmedabad, Anand, Vadodara, Bharuch, Surat, Bilimora, Vapi in Gujarat and Boisar, Virar, Thane & Mumbai in Maharashtra.

The entire journey will be completed in about 2 hours and 7 minutes with limited stops (at Surat, Vadodara and Ahmedabad) and 2 hours 58 minutes with all stops (at Sabarmati, Ahmedabad, Anand, Vadodara, Bharuch, Surat, Bilimora, Vapi, Boisar, Virar, Thane & Mumbai)

Q 6 : What is the total land required for the project and how much has been acquired ?
Out of 1390 hectares of land earmarked for the alignment, 430 hectares is in Maharashtra and 960 hectares is in Gujarat and Union Territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli. 100% of land has been acquired for the project.

Q 8 : How many mountain tunnels will the bullet train corridor have ?
Total seven mountain tunnels are being constructed for the corridor. Out of which six are in Maharashtra and one in Gujarat
Q 9 : How many river bridges are planned for the bullet train corridor ?
24 river bridges are being constructed as part of the alignment, of which 20 are in the state of Gujarat and 4 bridges in the state of Maharashtra

28 steel bridges have been planned along the corridor spanning over National and State Highways, Irrigation Canals and Railway Tracks
Q 11 : What technique is being used to speed up construction of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Corridor ?
In order to expedite the viaduct construction, the Full Span Launching Method (FSLM) is being used, besides the Segmental Launching Method.
Q 12 : What is the length of India’s first underground/undersea rail tunnel ?
A 21 km long tunnel is being constructed in Mumbai, Maharashtra which includes 7 km long undersea tunnel. This is the first undersea rail tunnel which will start from Mumbai and come out at Shilphata in Maharashtra.

Q 13 : What new track system is being introduced for the first time in India with this project ?
The Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project will have J-slab track system of ballastless track based on the Japanese Shinkansen track system. This is for the first time, the J-slab ballastless track system is being used in India.
Q 14 : How many rolling stocks depots are planned for bullet train corridor ?
The Mumbai Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project will be serviced by three Rolling Stock depots located at Sabarmati and Surat in Gujarat and Thane in Maharashtra.
